Even then, I don't think there is much point worrying about it unless you want to take it over ;)
It does appear it will survive, and that's what matters.
If you want a very simple aggregator, then Yahoo Pipes is a good way to go. You don't have to worry about caching (pipes takes care of that). Not as snazzy as RPGN was but will allow an RSS of all the blogs. Free and easy to set up (or play with).
Or you can talk to Alex Schröder. He has some Planet software running that pretty much does almost the same job as the RPG Bloggers main site. Check this out!
I'd second this. Planet looks like a very good tool for doing aggregation. I think an entirely open setup like Alex has set up is susceptible to abuse, but it looks like something that could be easily managed with minimal fuss and resources.
